{"id":6492,"date":"2019-02-28T14:48:21","date_gmt":"2019-02-28T19:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/superherospeak.com\/wp\/?p=6492"},"modified":"2019-02-28T14:48:21","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T19:48:21","slug":"excellence-arrives-in-may-from-image-skybound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/superherospeak.com\/wp\/excellence-arrives-in-may-from-image-skybound\/","title":{"rendered":"Excellence Arrives in May from Image\/Skybound"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Image\/Skybound Entertainment announced issue #1 of the new action-fantasy series EXCELLENCE is slated to arrive in comic book shops Wednesday, May 8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writer Khary Randolph (WE ARE ROBIN) and artist Brandon Thomas (NOBLE) introduce Spencer Dales, a young magician whose father is a member of the Aegis, a secret society fighting a generations-long war. \u00a0Spencer wishes to follow in his father\u2019s footsteps, but worries it will take more than his wand to fix the broken system he must work in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the series, Randolph stated, \u201cOne of the major themes of this book was generational rifts, so from every aspect of the worldbuilding, I tried to mash up the old with the new. Taking visual cues from artists like Jim Steranko, Hitchcock, and Saul Bass and remixing them with anime, hip-hop, and video game influences.
