There is just not a lot of continuity in the story here. One minute I think two homeless people are being filmed and talking about taking pills. The next minute we have Doctor Mirage and some teenager talking and holding hands while in the middle of room of abstract art and color. It’s like a Jack Kirby wet dream or something.

The story starts to settle in a bit as we learn about Doctor Mirage and her dead husband. Doctor Mirage is looking for away to bring her husband back from the dead. During this quest we do get to see a little magic action which I enjoyed, but then we are snapped back to different scene without a whole lot of contexts.

To me the artwork is where this one is really going to lose points. I’m just not a fan of noir artwork or abstract paintings and colors. A lot of the panels looked like they were colored with a roller. It makes it seem like a dream, which in that case it does a good job.

The story seems interesting enough, but it just isn’t apparent what is going on. Who is the enemy? Why did a random teenager with face piercing show up? It is hard to show respect for the abilities of the main character when she is so flippant and discombobulated in her actions.

Overall, I give this one a 6 out of 10. There were interesting and intriguing parts of the story, but overall it was very hard to understand what is real and what is dream or vision. The

artwork also leaves much to be desired. Perhaps the next issues will bring more context into what is happening and bring the artwork into perspective.

Doctor Mirage #2 Written by Magdalene Visaggio Artwork by Nick Robles Colors
Read More

[170,155
2820,2823,2821,2822,26,415,1928
post-7328","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-posts","category-reviews","tag-doctor-mirage","tag-jordie-bellaire","tag-magdalene-visaggio","tag-nick-robles","tag-review","tag-super-hero-speak","tag-valiant-comics
["GET
