We finally tracked down a high-end lightsaber on the New York Comic Con floor. It was the standout moment of our third day.
Superhero Speak is all about the hunt for rare collectibles, and today exceeded our expectations. Navigating the crowded aisles can be a challenge, but securing this specific piece made the entire trip worthwhile. We discuss what makes this particular lightsaber build so impressive and why it belongs in any serious collection.
Beyond the acquisitions, we spent the afternoon connecting with other fans to see what treasures they managed to snag. The energy at this year’s convention is truly unique, and we are breaking down the best finds of the day.

Welcome to the very first episode of a brand-new vlog series on Super Hero Speak! With New York Comic Con 2026 right around the corner, host Dave takes a trip down memory lane to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Super Hero Speak covering NYCC—and a personal history with the convention that stretches all the way back to 2010.
From attending as a fan with his daughter and getting Amazing Spider-Man #39 signed by John Romita Sr. (and later Stan Lee!), to working celebrity lines for Adam West and getting a kiss from Carrie Fisher, to spending years working the booth for artist Greg Horn, NYCC has been the backbone of this channel. Dave also looks back on how former co-host John helped kickstart the show’s convention coverage in 2016, what it was like finally landing official NYCC press passes in 2018, and gearing up to hit the Javits Center floor this October alongside co-host Don Daniels.
If you see Dave and Don Daniels (“Darth Don”) walking the floor at NYCC 2026 (October 8–11), make sure to stop by and say hi!
