Review: Man Goat & The Bunnyman Part 1

Writer: Joe Brusha

Artwork: Guillermo Fajardo

Man Goat and the Bunnyman live in the woods and help the local law enforcement but must keep themselves in secret much like big foot and the loch ness monster. A tourist has gone missing while she walked the woods, and our furry heroes were put on the case. They find out what happened to her and report back to the sheriff of the town. All is not well, because a team of trophy hunters is now on their trail.

The story is kind of funny and amusing, but otherwise does not make much sense to me. The Man Goat gets laid by human women and cusses a lot. The Bunnyman goes on mutant murder rampages and yearns to have human companionship of his own. Their origins are not explained, they are just a half man half goat and oversized intelligent bunny that go around solving bloody mysteries. This world that has Man goat having sex with woman and a big foot with a flat screen TV and a Nintendo Switch just does not make sense to me and is just not interesting. Perhaps it is just too absurd for my taste. I mean, I am a comic fan so absurd is my middle name, but this is just too far.

The artwork is awesome. Very detailed and colorful the images pop of the page very nicely. The gore looks awesome, and the action scenes are easy to follow. The artwork by Guillermo Fajardo is the strength of this comic for sure. You will enjoy the images and they really help tell this gory and grimm story.

Overall, I give Man Goat & The Bunnyman 6 capes out of 10. The Goat man from SNL was better. All jokes aside the story just does make much sense and does not grip me. The artwork is easily the best thing about this comic.

6 out of 10
