The loss of Stan “The Man” Lee is still felt throughout the world of comic book fandom. To celebrate the life and legacy of one of the medium’s visionaries, Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment, working with Legion M and Agents of Mayhem, announced details and speakers for “Excelsior! A Celebration of the Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible & Uncanny Life of Stan Lee.”

The event is being held Wednesday, January 30, will begin 4 p.m. PT at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA.  Fans wishing to attend can purchase tickets at http://www.legionm.com/stantribute.  All net proceeds from ticket sales go to the non-profit organization The Hero Initiative, a charity supporting comic book creators, artists and writers in need.

Appearing at Excelsior! will be a Who’s Who from movies, television, music and, of course, comics. Attendees include:

• Director and comic book superfan, Kevin Smith.
•  Mark Hamill, perhaps the greatest Joker of all time, who also appeared in a little sci-fi film called Star Wars.  Maybe you heard of it.
• Leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA.
• Phil Lord & Chris Miller, who are fresh off working on Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.
• Comic book creators Marv Wolfman, Joe Quesada, Jeph Loeb and Bill Sienkiewicz.

The evening is set to include video tributes from stars unable to attend, celebrity performances of Stan’s favorite music and poetry, memorabilia exhibits and a preview of pop-culture artist Rob Prior’s gallery show The Legacy Collection of Stan Lee.

Making sure attendees do not go hungry, the White Castle Crave Mobile will serve sliders, a Stan Lee favorite.

Brad Mendenhall is the Host/Co-Founder of the Cosmic Geppetto Podcast, a Pop Culture show where geeky people talk lovingly about geeky stuff.  His first memory of Stan Lee was as the narrator for Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends.
