Welcome back to Super Hero Speak! This week, Dave and Don are thrilled to welcome our old co-host, J.D., back to the mic for a packed episode.
We kick things off with a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Patrick Stewart. After a historic 26-year run defining Charles Xavier, Marvel has confirmed his time as Professor X will officially come to a close in Avengers: Doomsday. We look back at his unmatched legacy and what his portrayal has meant to the X-Men franchise.
We also break down the latest Marvel news, including the heavy speculation that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will make a PG-13 cameo in Avengers: Doomsday. With Wade Wilson also confirmed to crash Rogue and Gambit’s wedding in X-Men ’97 Season 3, we debate how he fits into the collapsing Multiverse.
Finally, J.D. takes the floor to officially rebut our recent reviews of Clayface and Lanterns. Did we completely miss the mark? Tune in for a classic Super Hero Speak debate!

Does the sudden character arc in Clayface make sense? We analyze why a rapid shift from healing to violence feels forced.
This breakdown focuses on the impact of drug use and intoxication on a character’s believability. If you are interested in how narrative pacing influences our perception of a protagonist, this analysis is for you.
We examine how the writing relies on tired superhero tropes to push the plot forward. By looking at the mechanics of this specific villain transition, we clarify why the audience struggle to connect with the character’s descent into murder.

Welcome back to another episode of Super Hero Speak! This week, Dave and Don dive into the grime of Gotham to give their full rating, review, and breakdown of the new Clayface movie. Did it break the mold for comic book adaptations, or was it a shapeshifting mess?
But before we get to the main event, we have a massive entertainment news explosion to cover:
The End of BioWare & Mass Effect 5 Canceled: It is a dark day for the gaming industry. EA has officially shut down the legendary studio BioWare, resulting in 400 layoffs and the heartbreaking cancellation of Mass Effect 5. We discuss EA’s massive $55 billion leveraged buyout, their shift away from large-scale action-adventure titles, and whether there is any hope left for the Amazon Prime Mass Effect TV series.
Avengers: Doomsday Clip Reaction: Doom is coming on December 18th! We react to the brand-new footage showing three teams standing as one to take on Doctor Doom. Plus, we get a hilarious exchange between Sam Wilson and Scott Lang over who really gets to be called Captain America.
