The head-banging action series MURDER FALCON from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment has featured variant covers inspired by classic heavy metal albums.  The artists and inspirations for upcoming issues have been announced as:

Issue #6 – Vanesa Del Rey (REDLANDS) homages Megadeth’s 1990 thrash metal classic ‘Rust in Peace.

Issue #7 – Eisner Award-winner Erica Henderson (THE UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL) provides art saluting Dio’s iconic debut album ‘Holy Diver.’

The series follows down-on-his-luck guitarist Jake who empowers The Murder Falcon against invading monsters via his heavy metal guitar riffs.  Ask your local comic book shop to add issue #6 to your bin on Wednesday, March 13th and issue #7 on Wednesday, April 10th.

Brad Mendenhall is the Host/Co-Founder of the Cosmic Geppetto Podcast, a Pop Culture show where geeky people talk lovingly about geeky stuff.  As a guitarist, he doesn’t have any heavy metal riffs, but does know some Joni Mitchell songs.
