SHS News: Noel Clark to release creator-owned comic

In what’s becoming an ever growing list of celebrities turned comic book writer the next to join their ranks is Noel Clark (Doctor Who, Star Trek: Into Darkness). In a field that already includes the likes of William Shatner (The TekWar Chronicles), Patton Oswalt (JLA: Welcome to the Working Week) and Mark Hamill (The Black Perl) to name a few. And now Mr. Clark is throwing his hat in the ring with “The Troop”

Before you start to grumble about another celebrity joining an overcrowded field remember that some of these books have been break out hits like Gerard Way’s Umbrella Academy and Joss Whedon’s run on Astonishing X-Men is considered one of the greatest X-Men stories in the last 20 years. So when the right creative mind joins the fold it can be amazing.

Noel Clark will be releasing “The Troop” through Titan Comics this December. The Troop has been described as The Game of Thrones of comic books and received high praise from comics legend Mark Millar who was quoted as saying about the book as “Fan-Bloody-Tastic…I loved it!”

Synopsis: Across the planet and unknown to each other, a group of troubled teenagers lead lives of quiet desperation. But hell is about to befall them and they find their lives destroyed when they are targeted by dark forces. On the run, they discover they have unbelievable powers and must come together – as The Troop!

So keep an eye for this one, it looks like it might be the next break out hit! We can’t wait to check it out.

The Troop #1 will be available in stores and on digital devices from December 9
