OUTPOURING COMICS ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF THE AWARD WINNING GRAPHIC NOVEL INHERITANCE AND ADDS CREATORS JAMES D. SCHUMACHER III & JAMES BURTON TO THE OUTPOURING TEAM

Outpouring Comics, one of the fastest growing independent comic book publishers in the industry, has acquired the award winning horror comic book Inheritance from filmmaker James D. Schumacher III and artist James Burton.

“It has been an amazing year for Outpouring Comics,” said Jon Miller, CEO of Outpouring Comics. “We have released several new comic books and we are working with the best creators! This is why I am pleased to announce James Schumacher and James Burton to our roster.”

Miller described Schumacher as a talented writer and Burton as an amazing artist with a unique style that has garnered him acclaim.

“I have seen the story and it is truly terrifying,” said Miller. “As I read it, I knew this is something that the Outpouring readers would love.”

Recently, during the Action On Film International Film Festival, Inheritance won for the best artwork for 2014.

“I can see why it won,” said Miller.

Inheritance tells the story of Serling Normandy, a motorcycle mechanic who is caring for his terminally ill mother who suffers from schizophrenia and hallucinations. However, when Serling begins seeing the same spirits his mother sees, he decides to confront a long dark family secret – his evil great-grandfather, Walter.

Walter was so vile, that even in death he still conjures fear and terror, but it appears Walter is about to return and wreck havoc on Serling and his mother.

Can Serling save his family and ultimately his own soul?

According to Schumacher, he enjoys creating stories that are hard driving and heart wrenching.

“The worlds that we create are born from the despair, anguish and sadness of the situations that lie in our past,” said Schumacher. “It may sound morbid, but without sadness, there is no creation.”

Burton echoed Miller’s assessment of the story.

“Good stories stay with you,” Burton said. “They are building blocks that shape our minds and choices and the best ones are forged from personal pain and anguish.”

Burton added that he ceased other comic book related jobs to draw Inheritance.

“I was ready to start my other projects, but, when I read the script – it burned,” Burton said.

Inheritance will debut at the Baltimore Comic Con on Sept. 25th.
