Quantum and Woody are two superhero brothers who are different in every way. One has a secret identity, the other does not. One is serious and gruff the other is crazy and zany.  No matter how different they are they must stick together, because if they don’t touch their golden bracers together every 24 hours; they will have a molecular breakdown. What could go wrong?

The story starts with us learning that they super powered superhero brothers have fallen out of favor in the public eye. Woody has been training which is not normal. His training has yielded him vison’s and Woody thinks it is their ticket to better PR.

The Story goes from zany to gory in a split second and has a pace that can break one’s neck. It is a fun read if you are okay with taking everything at face value. There is not a lot of serious dialog, but the dialog that is here does its job of making the situations and intentions clear. There is a variety a settings and situations, so it’s defiantly not meant to be dwelt on. It is just a fast-paced ride that doesn’t look to explain anything. Just have fun with what is going on. All in all, I thought it was fun.

The artwork is colorful and detailed. The colors and images pop and it is easy to understand what is happening in each of the panels. The only flaw is some of the panels are filled with long line to display shading. I just don’t like it when an image is filled with lines, that could just be my bias.

I give Quantum and Woody #1 by variant comics 7 capes out of 10. It’s a fun ride and even though we don’t have a lot of character development, we do have an interesting problem and story. The heroes are also very interesting, and it will be cool to see how their relationship develops.
